* "How We Became a Web Company" - Feb. 15th, 2011 - Mothering Magazine, the place where natural family living and gentle parenting is the norm has to end publications and become only a web based company. * Delco Doula Birth Services is hosting the first local BIRTH CIRCLE group on Sunday, June 27 from 1-4 @ Lansdowne Public Library meeting room. All women welcome. Click here for official flyer!
A BIRTH CIRCLE can end up including many services offered to the community regarding birth, but our intention right now is SIMPLE. We want a safe, supportive, non judgmental place for all women to be able to come and listen to and/or share their birth experiences/stories. Please read the full description on the flyer, linked above.

* Midwifery Today Conference - April 12-18, 2010

I had the opportunity to volunteer and attend the Midwifery Today Conference in King of Prussia this year. The positive energy of so many women passionate about birth, babies, and women was a feeling like none other. It was an experience I'll never forget. I had a chance to talk with Ina May Gaskin (photo to left)! She has always been a hero to me and her story has inspired me in more ways than one ever since I read her book, Spiritual Midwifery, four years ago. The training I received was from the most respected and well known birth professionals in the world. I have been inspired, energized, and empowered to support women through pregnancy and birth while learning some great new information and comfort techniques. Doulas and midwives from around the world gathering in one place during one week to learn from each other and to support each other. There can be nothing else like it. I will remember the special women I've met there - their faces, their stories, their struggles, and their compassion. And to the one and only man at the conference, Michel Odent, wow...you are truly amazing for all the work you've done for birthing women. And you are absolutely captivating!
